Supply, product, or service in support of a contingency operation (to include national disaster response) or humanitarian/peacekeeping operation or solutions necessary to address a critical gap in an operational need (UON/JUON/JEON).
For the DoD, the Urgency Capability Acquisition (UCA) pathway is to field capabilities to fulfill urgent existing and/or emerging operational needs or quick reactions in less than 2 years in accordance with DoDI 5000.81 – Urgency Capability Acquisition and DoDD 5000.71 – Rapid Fulfillment of Combatant Commander Urgent Operational Needs.
