Ordering under the Federal Supply Schedule
FAR Subpart 8.4
The Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) program is directed and managed by GSA and provides agencies with a simplified process to obtain commercial supplies and commercial services at prices associated with volume buying. Under RFO FAR Subpart 8.4, agencies must use the FSS in accordance with FAR 8.104 when a commercial product or commercial service meeting the agency’s needs is available through an existing Governmentwide contract or blanket purchase agreement.
When placing orders under the FSS, agencies follow the ordering procedures established by GSA at GSAM Subpart 538.71. Agencies may place task orders or delivery orders under the Federal Supply Schedule for required products or services and may establish Blanket Purchase Agreements under schedule contracts in accordance with the applicable GSA ordering procedures.
