For the DoD, the Acquisition of Services pathway is for the acquisition of contracted services with a total estimated value at or above the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT) in accordance with DoDI 5000.74 – Defense Acquisition of Services.
The Software Acquisition pathway is to facilitate rapid and iterative delivery of software capability to the user in accordance with DoDI 5000.87 – Operation of the Software Acquisition Pathway.
