Development Activities

Assessment of performance, safety, suitability and survivability, supportability, including software, and lethality, if appropriate.

Does not require all identified deficiencies be resolved prior to production or deployment

MDA will, in consultation with the user and requirements validation authority, determine which deficiencies must be resolved and what risks can be accepted.

  • Accepted risks will allow the user community to develop tactics, techniques, and procedures to help minimize the operational risks.

IT, including National Security Systems require an authorization to operate in accordance with DoDI 8510.01.
